MESSAGE OF GOODWILL BY H. E. UHURU KENYATTA, PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA TO MUSLIM FAITHFULS AS THEY CELEBRATE EID UL ADHA

On August 11, 2019 In Speeches & Statements

It is with great pleasure that I send greetings of peace and goodwill to our Brothers and Sisters of the Islamic faith as they observe and celebrate Eid ul Adha.

Eid ul Adha (Festival of the Sacrifice) is a period during which Muslims reflect on Prophet Abraham’s obedience to Allah when he was asked to sacrifice his son.

During this occasion, Muslims celebrate with family and friends while also extending a helping hand to the needy.

As a Nation we draw great strength and lessons from our cultural and religious diversity. It is on the pedestal of our cultural and religious diversity that we continue to build a strong, united and prosperous Kenya.

It therefore gives me great pleasure to express my appreciation of the role that the Islamic faith and culture plays in shaping Kenya's distinctive character as a harmonious and caring society.

As Muslim faithfuls across the nation embark on the solemn festivities, I wish all Eid Mubarak. May Allah accept your sacrifices.

UHURU KENYATTA, C.G.H., PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA
